bio
I am a third generation Californian. My father and his father both lived in Hollywood. My father was a high school teacher but also an accomplished artist and cartoonist. My mother worked in education and came from a family of scientists. I didn't get the science "gene" but I do enjoy the technical aspects of photography as much as the pure artistic ones.
I took snapshots as a child and pored over photo books in college but never took photography that seriously until I got my first digital camera. It could fit in my pocket, and I took it everywhere documenting everything I came across, from strange street scenes to funny signs. As I started to take some photography classes, I went simultaneously backward into black and white film and forward into the digital age.
I have a BM in Music Synthesis from Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA and a MFA in Writing and Poetics from Naropa University in Boulder, CO. I currently work in L.A. area as a freelance sound FX editor for movies.
